Rocca d’Ajello - Camerino. Wedding venue Macerata, Marche, Italy
Perched on a woody hill in the Marche region, Central Italy, the castle of Rocca d’Ajello was built between the XIIIth and XVIth century by the Varano family, lords of the duchy of Camerino. The castle is now privately owned and can be rented for weddings and events.
The large outdoor and indoor spaces provide ideal solutions even in case of bad weather. Cocktails and “aperitivi” are served in the two gardens, full of ancient roses and flowers; alfresco dinners and dancing take place in the large courtyard, while in rainy or cold weather the two spacious dining halls, Sala d’Armi e Scuderia Varano, can accomodate up to 230 people each.
The first floor rooms, furnished with period pieces, are available for visiting and taking photos, while younger guests will find a nursery full of toys. The wedding couple can choose their caterer and we provide visiting chefs with professionally equipped kitchens. The romantic atmosphere is enhanced by hundreds of torches and candles and by the floral decorations, created by the castle's florists mostly with flowers grown in the estate.

Rocca d'Ajello is an ancient fortress of the Varano family, lords of the duchy of Camerino between the XIIIth and XVIth century. It is located on a woody hill about 6 miles from Camerino and 30 from Macerata. The two towers were built by Gentile I da Varano around 1260. Giulio Cesare Varano in 1450 added a U shaped building to use the fortress as a villa. Today the castle is privately owned and can be rented to organize weddings and events.
