Castello di San Marco is an excellent example of 17th century Baroque castle and is ideally situated between the romantic town of Taormina and the impressing Mount Etna. The castle is immersed in four hectares of lush park and only a few passes away from the sea, making this unique castle the perfect place to celebrate the most important day of your life. The experience you will have at Castello di San Marco is more unique than rare, even for both Italy and Sicily.
To celebrate a wedding or private ceremony in a place where the walls breath history, where nature and culture fight to be the most prominent aspect, where service is personalized down to even the smallest detail; make your day as memorable as can possibly be - and for all the right reasons.
The story behind Castello di San Marco takes us back to 1689, when Ignazio Sebastiano Gravina Cruyllas, Prince of Palagonia, decided to reinforce his feud by building a coastal home, in order to to control vitally important commerce arriving by sea.

Today, it has been magnificently transformed into superlative tourist spot. Castello San Marco hotel is a one of the many wonders to be discovered in Sicily, a hotel where hospitality is sacred, as it used to be in the past. High-walled baroque reception halls enclose an idealistic atmosphere, impressive towers and grand staircases, Mediterranean and tropical gardens, swimming pool with an ideal part for weddings and special occasions, hidden terraces, antique millstones, a delightful private chapel and at a few metres and even a private beach. It really is something special.
Situated within the park are thirty-one rooms of which seven are luxurious suite deluxe and ten are beautiful junior suites, all furnished in an old Sicilian style with their own private terrace.

There are also 14 comfortable standard rooms. Around the grounds there are grand reception halls, lava stone arches, splendid fireplaces, all of which testify rich and princely nobility. The two restaurants offer exquisite and first class Italian and Sicilian fine dining.
The philosophy of Castello di San Marco? It’s simple: an awareness to conserve as best as possible such a treasure, as well as ensuring our guests leave satisfied and amazed by the gem they have discovered.
This philosophy creates unforgettable memories for unforgettable events (from weddings to anniversaries; from christenings to birthday parties). The banqueting line is refined, personalised and unique. The castle offers a wide range of possibilities as to where to hold an event and there is even the possibility to have a welcoming in period costumes. In any case, the main objective of our staff and management is to carry out the dreams and desires of who comes to this unique, historical and marvellous place.

The director Daniele Murabito confesses, “With the greatest respect, I believe that Prince Ignazio could never have imagined his castle as a home for many travellers coming from all over the world, yet, after all, I am sure that even he would have been welcomed with the same “proverbial” hospitality as we offer today.”
We invite you to come and discover our beautiful castle for yourselves and experience the true meaning of Sicilian hospitality.
